About The Times In

The Times In was founded in 2016 by a group of writers and editors who believed that the appetite for serious long-form journalism had not disappeared — it had simply been underserved by publications that had moved toward shorter, faster content in response to digital pressures.

We publish three to five long reads per week, on politics, society, history and culture. Our pieces are typically between 2,000 and 5,000 words. We do not publish news in the conventional sense. We publish analysis, reportage and criticism that requires time and space to develop properly.

We are reader-supported and carry limited advertising. Our editorial independence is absolute.
